Worship & Creative Arts Pastor

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Worship Leading/Music Directing

Provide vision to the worship ministry of Arise Church.

Be the primary Worship Leader / Musical Director for Sunday Morning Gatherings, partnering with the Lead Pastor to facilitate encountering God.

Brings energy and passion to the worship experience.

Understands the relationship between prayer and worship.

Ability to follow the movements of the Holy Spirit in a worship setting.

Lead/Coordinate weekly upper-room worship event.

Ensure that music aligns with the vision and theology of Arise Church.

Communicate effectively from the stage.

2. Creative Oversight

- Play a key role alongside the Lead Pastor in service planning for Sunday gatherings and special events.

- Select and arrange songs for worship gatherings that honor the church as a multigenerational multiethnic community, with an eye to the next generation.

- Ability to cast vision and tell stories through a variety of mediums—spoken, written, visual.

- Visual and graphic design, including overseeing social media communication.

- Envision and execute aesthetic elements of church—staging, events, etc.

- Ability to beautify spaces is a bonus!

3. Training and Development

- Train, develop, and empower musicians, especially the emerging generation.

- Build and foster a community of creatives.

- Regularly connect with individual worship community members to deepen their spirituality and enhance their gifts.

- Audition new musicians and integrate them into the community.

- Work with AV team to train and enhance the audio and visual experience.

- Help update our AV and staging to maximize effectiveness of our mission.

- Mentor and disciple church members.

4. Administrative Support

- Oversee the scheduling of all worship gatherings, including managing volunteers.

- Preparing charts and managing ProPresenter.

- Communication with team members.

- Develop and oversee a youth ministry worship team.

- Project management of church events and conferences.

- Work collaboratively to support our various ministry teams.

5. Kingdom Engagement

- Active in citywide networking (eg. TogetherPDX, WorshipPDX).

- Participate in denominational events (eg C&MA district conferences, 24-7 Prayer).

- Creative Engagement with our on-site ministry partner, a Christian High School
