Description:
The Web Technical Writer composes clear and coherent technical information, discusses software operations, and writes instruction manuals for Developers and Information Technologists and Engineers. This position will possess an overall understanding of the software products and applications, and systems and infrastructure used or developed by the Internet Business (IB) teams. The Web Technical Writer will create technical documents and manuals, explain complex information in a clear and concise manner and work with different teams in the IB department to ensure accuracy of documentation of software inner workings and technical procedures.
Accountabilities & Essential Functions
- Develops a thorough understanding of the audience and the documentation required by meeting with colleagues and working with managers to discuss technical problems.
- Research and gains knowledge about products, services, technology, and concepts to be documented.
- Ensures that technical information is presented logically for maximum reader comprehension, and composes and edits technical material accordingly.
- Prepares or commissions graphics and illustrations to elaborate on or complement technical writing.
- Communicates with subject matter experts to ensure specialized topics are addressed and discussed.
- Collaborates with Developers, Information Technologists and Engineers to ensure that the finished documentation meets product requirements.
- Revises, edits, and updates instructions, technical information, and other documents, as necessary.
- Creates, adapts, and follows project schedules and deadlines.
- Concentrates in technical writing for Information Technology (IT) industry.
- Remains up to date on technological and product developments as well as universal specifications relevant to the IT industry.

Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in English, Communications, Information Technology, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in Technical Writing
