Web & Graphic Designer

Description:

The Office of Cannabis Management is currently seeking a Web and Graphic Designer to develop digital and design material for OCM external and internal audiences. The Web and Graphic Designer will serve as the primary content coordinator and manager for the external OCM website and help advance branding and design best practices by developing and maintaining Office document templates and library of images and icons.

This position is located in St. Paul and may telework from home two days per week and is expected to be in the office three days per week.

A successful incumbent in this position will be able to:

• Create work that adheres to visual standards in accordance with State of Minnesota branding guidelines and digital accessibility standards
• Develop and coordinate final layout and design for external and internal organizational deliverables
• Ensure visual designs are engaging, professional, contemporary, clear in purpose, and utilize plain language best practices
• Maintain the OCM website daily, implementing content updates, additions, and changes from all agency programs and divisions
• Suggest new ways of presenting information for better usability
• Assist with the design of documents, templates, and visual materials for all OCM

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

To facilitate proper years of service crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

• Two years of experience designing and editing websites, icons, graphics, templates, photos, etc. (a bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital marketing, multi-media design, advertising, or other relevant field may substitute for one year of experience)
• Experience with plain language
• Experience using graphic design software, such as those in the Adobe creative suite
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to celebrate diversity and work effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures
