Description of Job
The salary range for this posting is -
$24.43 - $31.77 Hourly
$1,954.62 - $2,541.23 Biweekly
$4,235.00 - $5,506.00 Monthly
$50,820.00 - $66,072.00 Annually
Graphic design support. The designer will be responsible for creating contemporary design
concepts for various projects, collaborating closely with our design and communications teams.
They will produce a range of marketing materials including brochures, flyers, annual reports and
social posts.
Photography and videography support. Utilize current video industry standards to create
storyboards, shoot and produce video content for communications.
The successful applicant will demonstrate that they:
Have a working knowledge of capturing photos and videos with a DSLR or similar camera.
Have a working knowledge of non-linear editing software.
Have a basic knowledge of video storytelling, and be familiar with video production.
The successful applicant will demonstrate that they:
Can create consistent content for clients that adhere to brand guidelines.
Have unique and creative approaches to solve communications challenges.
Strong time management and communication skills.
Website support. Provide support to Lead Designer in maintaining and updating content for
external CDLE website and intranet. Assist with content migration for both sites including
running analytics and reports.
The successful applicant will demonstrate that they:
Have experience creating and maintaining websites using Content Management Systems.
Have knowledge of contemporary web design and user experience.
Are familiar with web analytics tools.
File management. Maintain publications inventory for all department communications
materials. Manage and maintain graphic and video files.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Substitutions:
Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Education and Experience:
Four (4) years of any combination of experience with creating storyboards, video production, graphic design support, and website design support.
OR
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in graphic design, multi-media technology or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in GSuite/Adobe Creative Cloud
Excellent ability to handle a high volume of projects
Excellent creative and technical problem-solving skills
Knowledge and understanding of design principles and print production
Experience and proficiency in photography, videography and digital editing
Experience in brand and graphic standards management
Experience performing alike duties as a State of Colorado classified employee.
Required Competencies:
Creative suite software: Use a creative software suite such as ''Adobe'' to aid in graphic designing.
Market research: Gather, assess and represent data about target market and customers in order to facilitate strategic development and feasibility studies. Identify market trends.
Graphic design: Experience with the techniques to create a visual representation of ideas and messages.
Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Judgment and Decision Making: Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
