Vp, Enterprise Data Architect

 

Description:

The VP, Enterprise Data Architect will lead the strategic design, governance, and execution of enterprise-wide data architecture, aiming to modernize the data ecosystem, optimize data assets, and enable data-driven decision-making across Everest. The role requires deep domain expertise in insurance and the ability to influence senior leadership to align data strategies with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Enterprise Data Strategy: Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise data architecture, aligned with business objectives and digital transformation.

  2. Data Architecture Leadership: Establish data governance, management, and cloud-based architecture frameworks for scalable and secure data solutions.

  3. Domain Expertise in Insurance: Design industry-specific data solutions for policy, claims, underwriting, actuarial, and regulatory requirements.

  4. Technology & Platform Optimization: Lead the modernization of data platforms, including cloud, on-prem, hybrid models, data lakes, and real-time analytics.

  5. Senior Leadership Influence: Partner with senior executives to advocate for a data-driven culture and architectural best practices.

  6. Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., NAIC, GDPR, CCPA, IFRS 17).

  7. Team Leadership & Collaboration: Build and mentor a high-performing team and collaborate across data engineering, analytics, and business units.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 15+ years in data architecture, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.

  • Strong domain expertise in insurance (P&C, Life, or Health).

  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and drive data strategy.

  • Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Knowledge of data modeling, metadata management, data governance, and MDM.

  • Experience with AI/ML, predictive analytics, and real-time data processing.

  • Experience leading large-scale data transformations in federated environments.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as CDAO or Chief Architect.

  • Familiarity with GenAI applications in insurance and advanced analytics.

  • Strong understanding of FinOps in cloud-based environments.
