Description:
The VP of Corporate Financing will lead project financing for UBQ manufacturing plant expansion in clean tech / waste to value projects throughout the entire projects lifecycle, and oversee the origination and due diligence of project finance, government funding, incentives and grant facilities. This position will be based out of Washington DC or Miami on a hybrid schedule.
This position Reports to the CFO
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine project finance, ECA Financing and municipal bonds models and analysis across all stages of manufacturing capacity build and on the enterprise level.
- Mentor and develop a team supporting business strategy, project financing, and mergers & acquisitions.
- Maintain detailed financial models for each development project, from the start of the process through the financial close
- Model various finance structures, to include tax equity and debt, across multiple regions and markets.
- Lead the model evaluation of M&A deals, working with various stakeholders through the M&A process
- Present recommendations for identifying project risks, advise on investment structures and expected investment returns
- Explain project economics and risks in review committees, and prepare the financial analysis required for the Investment Committee
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant counterparties
- Lead the structuring and execution of transactions
- Develop and document financing, valuation, and modeling best practices
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be able to draw on previous experience to inform investment decisions, project revenue, and assess risk using clean tech / Energy Transition financial models to support their case.
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in a project or commercial finance role with an energy transition / clean tech company / bank or investment / consulting firm focused on energy transition or waste to value businesses.
- Extensive knowledge of, and modeling experience with, tax equity structures, tax credits, and the inflation reduction act (IRA)
- Demonstrated success in closing project financings that include tax equity, debt, and sponsor equity
- Prior experience with investment analysis within the energy transition or waste to value company or energy consulting firm
- Proven ability to build complex financial models
- Technologically adept including expert-level Excel, Power BI, other data analytic programs, and PowerPoint
- Strong communication skills and a desire to disseminate information to internal and external stakeholders
