Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Develop user-friendly installation, operation, and maintenance manuals, user instructions, quick start guides, analytical procedures, and online help.
  • Global Delivery: Create content that can be delivered globally and translated into multiple languages (27+ languages).
  • Visual Representation: Produce creative visual representations of complex customer tasks, concepts, and reference materials.
  • Icons and Symbols: Design icons and symbols to complement written content, Graphical User Interfaces (GUI), and industrial design.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Project Management, R&D) and gather customer feedback to enhance end-user documentation.
  • Quality Improvement: Continuously improve the quality of documentation based on feedback from both internal and external customers.
  • Production Preparation: Prepare documentation for final production in various formats (print, online, translation management), including inspecting and proofing final delivery files.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) with 3 years of experience or a minimum of 10 years of experience in building technical drawings for technical publication documentation. Experience in pre-press production and printing is beneficial.
  • Drafting and Engineering: Proficiency in drafting or engineering documentation is necessary for this role.
  • Software Skills: Skilled in CorelDesigner, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat Suite. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, especially for formatting charts and graphs.
  • CAD Expertise: Experience in SolidWorks or similar CAD systems, including the ability to manipulate solid models and 3D images. Capable of creating complex isometric assembly drawings from scratch or by scaling actual parts.
  • DITA and XML: Familiarity with DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) and XML, along with knowledge of content management systems.
  • Standards Knowledge: Understanding of ANSI and ISO standards related to end-user documentation and safety-related information.
