Roles and responsibilities
Immediate:
—Temporarily conduct weekly financial duties during Associate Director’s leave of absence. Send bills, invoices and reimbursements to the museum accountant. Cash out the weekly till.
Beginning in 2025:
—Operate the front desk and, alongside volunteers, welcome visitors, sell merchandise and admissions, provide information about the Aviation Museum to the public and volunteers.
—Promote and process memberships.
—Handle volunteer scheduling and address volunteer needs and questions as they arise.
—Assist with planning museum functions.
—Help stock the museum gift shop and arrange displays of goods.
Requirements
—Previous experience in a retail or customer service role.
—A bachelor’s or associate degree in museum studies, business administration, or similar program.
—Ability to accurately perform basic business functions and financial duties when called for.
—Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
—Willingness to work weekends and evenings when needed to assist with event coordination and to provide front desk coverage.
—Excellent time management skills, including prioritization, scheduling and adapting when necessary.
—Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft products, including Excel. Knowledge of Square POS systems and QuickBooks a plus.
