Description:
Visitor Service Associate will staff the Gift Shop. You will be the “face” of the company for all visitors and are responsible for the first impression we will make. The ideal candidate will have a friendly and easygoing personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined. Competence in dealing with complaints and giving information as well as a customer-oriented approach are essential. The goal is to make guests and visitors feel comfortable and valued while on our premises so as to contribute to an overall great experience with our Museum.
Responsibilities
· Processing admission, gift shop and membership sales
· Handling cash, check and credit card transactions
· Answering visitor questions and phone calls
· Stocking shelves
· Light cleaning
· Turning on and off the exhibits as well as opening and closing the Museum
· Preparing the end-of-the day reports
· Preparing basic administrative functions
· Turning on/off the security system
· Prepare gift shop inventory counts
· Undertake receptionist and clerical duties during slow periods
· Birthday Party Attendant
Requirements
· Experience as a front desk representative or equivalent position
· Strong communication and people skills
· Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities
· Good problem-solving skills
· Computer skills
· 16 and older
· Standing for extended periods of time
