Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively provides friendly and courteous service to members and visitors
- Assists visitors in navigating museum spaces
- Ability to work effectively with the public and coworkers
- Tracking attendance into exhibition galleries
- Moving stanchions and other equipment, placing signage based on business needs
- Operates coat check, checking-in visitors personal items
- Maintain neat and organized work spaces
- Controls crowds as needed
- Operates a digital point of sale system as needed
- Promotes museum membership, audio tour, and special exhibition sales on-site
- Informs, sells and processes memberships
- Performs other duties as assigned
Schedule:
- Anticipated start date for this position is 11/02/23
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays and some evenings
- Saturday-Sunday, Tuesday-Thursday availability preferred
- Regular scheduled shift times are 9am-5pm, 10:30am-3:30pm
- There will be three paid training shifts scheduled upon hire
- Training shifts begin on Wednesdays and Thursdays, are from 9am-5pm and occur during the first two weeks of employment
- Scheduled shifts are made available to employees 14 days in advance
- Ideal candidates will be available to work 4 days per week including at least one weekend day
- Hours fluctuate pending availability and business needs
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: A High School Diploma/G.E.D. with demonstrated interest/knowledge in hospitality, art history or practice, education, or related fields a plus.
Work Experience: Must have two years of customer service experience.

- Ability to work independently and make decisions in the moment with indirect supervision
- Strong follow-through, problem-solving, and administrative skills
