What you’ll be doing
The Vice President of Finance shall hold the responsibility for managing the overall financial operations for all Buckland entities and will provide accurate information to the Executive team, including analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reports.
The Vice President of Finance will be responsible for ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting, financial reporting, Human Resource policies and will maintain the company’s accounting system and implement changes as required.

You will be responsible for
Finance
- Serve as a financial advisor to the executive team for strategic planning purposes
- Lead and review the budgeting process
- Manage insurance coverage for the organization, including compliance
- Collect, interpret, and report financial data for internal and external users
- Conduct regular audits of expenditures, payroll, assets, and liabilities
- Report on a regular basis regarding company status against, and ability to meet its strategic and operational objectives
- Develop, monitor, and enforce policies and procedures relevant to accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and project tracking
- Communicate and collaborate with departmental leaders to stay abreast of spending, budgeting, reports, and evaluation
- Monitor legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to financial reporting, corporate taxes, and operations, and ensure compliance
- Liaison with external parties (accountants, lawyers, banks, insurance, etc.) with regard to all financial and tax issues
- Manage the operation, implementation, and development of information systems solutions as they relate to accounting, finance, and reporting
- Audit and improve productivity and effectiveness of current cross-team processes
- Review recommend and implement internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial records
Human Resources
- Collaborate with the Executive team and the Human Resources Director to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention
- Develop strategic HR plans and policies with the HR director
- Hire, lead, and evaluate the HR management team
- Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Provide leadership with respect to the development and implementation of HR programs/initiatives designed to enhance the employee experience
- Ensure that communication flows effectively across all locations. Enhance corporate culture to foster engagement of all employees at all levels
- Oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
- Identify developmental requirements and support the implementation of training
What we need from you
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related discipline
- Accredited accounting designation (CPA)
- Valid Passport with the ability and desire to occasionally travel to US, Mexico and Canada
What skills & experience you’ll bring to us
- Minimum 10 years’ experience at a senior leadership level
- Experience working with financial information systems
- The ability to fit into the existing team and take on team leadership
- Strong organization skills are necessary to manage multiple projects
- Effective communication skills to convey financial concepts to company managers and executives
- Ability and desire to occasionally travel to the United States, Mexico or Canada
