Description:

The Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion position exists to provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of college-wide goals for equity and inclusion to ensure access and opportunity, eliminate barriers, and develop intentional strategies for the academic success and advancement of individuals of historically under-represented populations. This position is the President’s primary advisor on issues regarding equity and inclusion, and counsels Cabinet members and senior level officials on policy and practices for institutional effectiveness for employee and student diversity, student success and completion rates, and campus diversity climate. The Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is responsible for major diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that mutually benefit the college and external stakeholders, and oversees the access and opportunity funds.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and five (5) years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience collecting and using data to assess success of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in partnership development with internal and external clientele.
  • Experience in budget management and demonstrated ability to seek and obtain external resources.
  • Demonstrated facilitation skills with multiple audiences addressing complex topics.
  • Excellent presentation skills and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Federal, State, and local laws for equity, diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Seven (7) years demonstrated higher education leadership experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Five (5) years demonstrated experience supporting C-Suite or College President in a leadership capacity.
  • Three (3) years of experience with Minnesota State policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Experience working with administrators and faculty in a higher education setting.
