Engage with team members across the organization to set the vision and drive alignment of diversity and inclusion goal with business strategy for Health and Hospital Corporation. Work with a team to develop a system wide education and culture on diversity, equity and inclusion. Reports directly to the President/CEO of the corporation.

Associated Job Duties

  • Develop effective strategies to promote diversity and inclusion for Health and Hospital Corporation
  • Develop and coordinate training programs related to diversity and inclusion
  • Maintain current knowledge and materials related to laws, rules, regulation and best practices for advancing diversity and inclusion within the corporation
  • Collaborate with division leaders to develop policies, initiatives, value statements, and opportunities to increase awareness for underrepresented groups
  • Work on systemic diversity and inclusion issues with Human Resources
  • Implement specific programs and outreach initiatives that target diverse employees for the corporation
  • Ensure the inclusion of diversity/inclusion goals and deliverables in each Division Strategic Plan and Workforce Development Plan in the corporation
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Information Services in developing effective employee search strategies, networks and recruitment sources
  • Provide guidance and support to the President and other senior staff in all divisions in the management of diversity issues that affect Health and Hospital Corporation
  • Responsible for coordinating and guiding all efforts to define, understand, assess, foster and cultivate diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Supervise the collection/gathering and analysis of program-related data, report findings and provide recommendations
  • Review the alignment of Division strategic plans to ensure diversity and inclusions are prioritized to meet the needs of the corporation and its customers.
  • Reports to the Board of Trustees annually on diversity and inclusion performance improvement efforts and results of those efforts.
  • Serves as a bridge between Health and Hospital Corporation and diverse communities, community agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Leads the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group.
  • Supervises Diversity and Inclusion Program staff. Hires, evaluates, trains, disciplines and recommends dismissal of staff, as necessary.
  • Manages the department budget, including developing budget proposals, justifying expenses and monitoring accounts.
  • Assure the attainment of Domain 4 Core Competencies of Public Health for all MCPHD employees.
  • Responsible for compliance with legal requirements for Resolutions, RFP, RFQ, Bids and other Purchasing functions.
  • Provides legal guidance to Purchasing Department to ensure all applicable laws are followed in purchasing process.
  • Ensures purchasing department vendor database is up to date and that minority vendors are contacted regarding bid packages, RFQ's and general purchases. Ensures coordination with City of Indianapolis to expand diversity participation.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor or Master Degree in Business /Health Related Field/Human Resources (preferred)
  • Seven to ten years of experience, developing and executing diversity and inclusion strategies at a system level
  • Proven track record of project management and ability to drive programs that support the organization's workforce diversity, inclusiveness, and retention opportunities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
