The Team: Commercial Specialists focus on a specific service and develop deep expertise for such service, the market, and our competition. Commercial Specialist drive ACV growth, client engagement, and adoption of our respective services.

The Commercial Specialist Team works in close collaboration with the Commercial Teams, Marketing team, Client Services and Product team.

The Impact: The content Commercial Specialist role is instrumental in the full sales cycle including discovery, opportunity evaluation, collaboration in planning and execution of commercial offers, support, and opportunity closure. You will use your knowledge to influence customer decisions and provide insightful solutions. The successful incumbent will be able to articulate and communicate the value of S&P Commodity Insights solutions offerings to prospective customers and internal sales organization. Additionally, the Commercial Specialist will help shape product portfolio by communicating market needs to the Product & Portfolio Teams

Responsibilities:
Ultimate responsibility for getting the “technical win” in a sales pursuit.
Collaborate with Commercial Managers designing and implementing winning strategies for selling and adding value to existing and prospective customers
Perform business and technical discovery with customer prospects and build proposed solutions
Product & solution demonstrations
Strategic Account Reviews
Understand commercial model and how products relate to each other and how they provide relevant value to the customer
Create or help create material for Sales team to utilize
Understand Upstream company personas and how our solutions fit

What We’re Looking For:
BS in Geoscience/Engineering/Data Science; MS preferred but not required
7+ years in a customer facing Pre-Sales, customer care or implementation role
Prior experience with Oil & Gas Data and its application by E&P companies
Experience with cloud technologies - SaaS applications, cloud infrastructure, Data Analytics, etc.
Excellent customer-facing communication and organization skills
Ability to learn new technologies, new concepts and to solve problems
Hands-on experience with automation technologies, middleware, integration architecture and Databases.
Ability to describe complex technical/product concepts to diverse audiences: executives, business stakeholders and technology practitioners
Passion for demonstrating solutions and ability to provide technical/product input during the sales process
