Test Driver

Description:

Kumho is looking for a Test Driver - Engineering to manage and execute vehicle tire testing across North America. The role involves scheduling test tracks, acquiring test vehicles and wheels, analyzing test data, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate communication of results to tire engineers. The position requires extensive travel to test sites and collaboration with both internal and external test teams to maintain consistent evaluation procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee internal vehicle testing in North America, primarily focusing on ride and handling.

• Schedule test tracks and proving grounds, obtaining quotes for services.

• Arrange for test vehicles and wheels (rental, lease, or KATC inventory).

• Coordinate tire/wheel mounting and shipping to and from proving grounds.

• Conduct test data collection, prepare reports, and communicate findings.

• Manage external testing programs with third-party evaluators.

• Organize and oversee snow handling and traction testing.

• Collaborate with tire engineers to refine data collection methods.

• Align testing procedures and evaluations with other Kumho test drivers.

• Travel to proving grounds as required for testing programs.

• International travel to South Korea for company-related testing and meetings may be required.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field.

• 3+ years of prior experience as a tire test driver in vehicle testing.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office for data acquisition and analysis.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new testing methods and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Automotive OEM tire testing.

• Knowledge of tire engineering and vehicle dynamics.

• Hands-on experience with tire mounting equipment operation.

Important Notes from Client:

• Candidates previously or currently employed at reputed tire manufacturers (e.g., Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, etc.) must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their HR department.

• Must be comfortable with international travel, including a visit to South Korea after joining for company-related meetings.
