Description:
Develop documentation for custom applications and packaged applications, using a variety of mediums as needed. Deliver training to a variety of audiences. Identify needed accesses and modifications for the training system environment.
This position will also be responsible for the following:
- Lead instructor, event coordinator and POC for IT-ology’s Diverse IT professional development program to promote and grow diversity within the STEM workforce through mentorship, networking, and community outreach.
- Design and develop instructional content and supporting materials for IT-ology’s programs and events.
- Lead instructor for technical and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) trainings for a variety of audiences in different environments including K-12 students, parents, educators, veterans and IT professionals.
- Lead instructor to facilitate and deliver IT enrichment workshops for in-school field trips, after-school coding clubs, summer camps, and computer science related competitions.
- Lead instructor for K-12 student career fairs, STEAM festivals, and other community events.
- Use innovative tools such as robots, circuity, drones and makers to educate learners according to the computer science standards issued by the SC Department of Education.
- Serve as a keynote speaker for professional and K-12 engagements.
- Assist with non-profit grant writing to gain funding opportunities to support IT-ology’s programs and events.
What You'll Do:
- Create and deliver training and development programs to all levels of end-users and IT professionals.
- Code, test, and debug programs specifically for training.
- Work closely with both I/t and the business to understand system and training needs for applications and packages supported.
- Participate in the training needs assessment process and vendor selection.
To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need:
- Bachelor's in a job related field
- OR 4 years job related work experience or Associate's and 2 years job related work experience
- 2 years Training experience, including I/T course development and delivery, and 3 years I/T technical experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- OR 2 years Training experience, including I/T course development and delivery and 1 year I/T technical experience with a Masters degree.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in relevant productivity tools and standard packages.
- Understand appropriate development methodologies.
- Understand and apply adult learning principles.
- Design training programs, classes, workshops, computer-based training, and online help.
- Understand the complex technical environment of the organization.
- In-depth knowledge of systems, applications, and programming languages.
- Classroom and standard office equipment.
