Technical Sales Engineer

Responsibilities Include:

  • Creating quotes, budgets, and simple equipment layouts as needed.
  • Processing and following up on sales leads.
  • Managing and interpreting customer requirements and using the associated details to recommend product solutions to customers.
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education.
  • Full product line presentation, including key advantages of each product to customers and industry professionals.
  • Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
  • Supporting customer service on all active projects.
  • Working closely with Sales Manager in establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers; and in reporting marketing feedback on products, competition, and market conditions.
  • Engaging with members of the sales team and technical experts.
  • Qualified Candidates must possess:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific or engineering (a mechanical engineering degree is a plus) based field and experience in sales and the customer interface.
  • Strongly prefer at least three years of experience working in technical applications engineering role.
  • Must be organized, with excellent engineering analytical and problem-solving abilities, and enjoys talking to engineers.
  • Extensive experience with effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations.
  • Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Project
  • Auto Cad 2D drafting ability is desired
