Technical Project Manager

Description:

NYSTEC, a nonprofit technology consulting company, is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead system modernization and IT implementation projects. This role involves managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring successful IT solution deployment while maintaining quality, scope, budget, and timeline.

Key Responsibilities:

📌 Project Leadership & Management:

• Lead and manage software development & system modernization projects.

• Define project scope, objectives, and detailed work plans.

• Ensure project milestones are met and communicate progress to stakeholders.

📌 Documentation & Communication:

• Maintain technical & project documentation.

• Develop and execute communication plans with stakeholders.

• Create and deliver presentations and meeting agendas.

• Capture and track meeting minutes, risks, issues, and action items.

📌 Technical & Risk Management:

• Troubleshoot technical challenges and recommend solutions.

• Mitigate project risks and ensure approvals for changes.

• Use best practices and industry standards to maintain project quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

✔ Experience & Technical Knowledge:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in project management.

• Strong understanding of system modernization, IT implementation, and integration.

• Familiarity with project management methodologies & software tools.

✔ Soft Skills:

• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and in teams.

• Planning and organizational capabilities.

✔ Technical Proficiency:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Project).

• Understanding of DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management, Cisco Catalyst Center, Optical Networks, and Splunk (Preferred).

✔ Certifications (Preferred):

• PMP (Project Management Professional).

• ITIL Certification.

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

✔ Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
