Description:

Duties

  • Developing, reviewing, and recommending applicable technical policies, procedures, and other guidance materials.
  • Providing expert technical support guidance, advice, and assistance regarding Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) and/or Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP).
  • Developing scope, schedule, and budgets and managing to those including understanding the scope of effort each staff member supporting programs.
  • Establishes priorities and ensures timely completion and acceptable quality of highly visible work products.
  • Provides expert technical engineering and scientific support to the Superfund, DERP-FUDS, Army IRP, SFO and Civil Works environmental programs nationwide.
  • Supervises subordinates consisting of environmental engineers, civil engineers, safety professionals, scientists, geophysicists, health physicists, munitions safety experts, program liaisons, and support staff.
  • Reviews high visibility work products of staff for accuracy against national program policy and guidance and technical requirements.
  • Establishes performance requirements and makes mid-year and annual performance reviews.
  • Assesses manpower requirements based on workload and mission assignments.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to TDY up to 25% of the time.
  • May be to required to serve an initial probationary period and/or a supervisory probationary period.
