Major Responsibilities

  • Oversight of students in classroom ensuring each student is behaving, social distancing and completing their work as assigned by distance learning teacher
  • Work to support the students academically – reviewing work and answering questions.
  • Communicate regularly with teacher of the class regarding student updates, classroom behavior, concerns, etc. Provide regular summary of work completed.
  • Coordinate with division head or dean of students on behavioral issues with students.
  • Comply with all building procedures, expectations and schedules.
  • Work cooperatively with other teachers in that grade and/or division.
  • Work with faculty member to assist in grading, attendance and LMS maintenance.
  • Serve in any other duties as assigned by division head including recess supervision, helping with lunches in classrooms and/or assisting with carpool pick up and drop off.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience teaching or major in education is preferred, but not required.
  • Be compassionate, kind, and love teaching/working with students.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, accountability, and humor.
  • Be a lifelong learner passionate about his/her discipline, and continually refines and develops their pedagogy
  • Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook email systems.
  • Ability to function well both independently and in a team setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism: ability to meet deadlines, lead initiatives, be proactive, and communicate with all constituencies of school community.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various projects at one time.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
