Description:
The student intern will be part of the Office of Technology Management (OTM) at WashU, supporting the WashU Gap Fund and OTM Expert-in-Residence (XiR) programs. The intern will assist in data management, organizing, and maintaining information related to Gap Fund projects and XiR program activities. This role offers valuable exposure to technology transfer and commercialization processes in a university setting.
Participate in office meetings and one-on-one meetings with the supervisor.
Retrieve, assemble, clean, organize, and prepare data for migration into systems.
Prepare, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents.
Enter activity data for the Gap Fund program into the Cayuse database.
Screen WashU’s intellectual property portfolio for promising candidates for Gap Fund support.
Assist with preparing preliminary assessments of proposed Gap Fund projects.
Research topics to evaluate proposed Gap Fund projects and review pitch decks.
Identify and solicit participants for Gap Fund evaluation panels and consolidate feedback.
Collect outcomes data for completed Gap Fund projects.
Assist with the XiR program by identifying potential experts and moderating program networks.
Review meeting summaries and suggest improvements for program efficiency.
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
B.S. in Computer Science (preferred).
Experience in data acquisition, management, cleaning, organizing, and migration (1 year preferred).
Skills:
Familiarity with CRM, Microsoft Dynamics CRM Applications, and Microsoft SQL Server Administration (preferred).
