Description:
The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for compliance and statutory leadership and guidance with GAAP, monthly internal compliance, annual external audit reporting, and external international audit. This individual will work with several departments within the Lids Group as well as with external audit firms and partners.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage internal and external annual audits from planning to completion
- Oversight of schedules and reports provided by Hat World teams are prepared in accordance with GAAP and audit controls in a timely manner
- Coordinate with US and international external audit teams to deliver PBC schedules for all entities
- Represent Accounting and Controls with key business partners through effective communication with Payroll, AP, AR, FP&A and Accounting teams.
- Responsible to prepare and track monthly action plan to see the proper steps are taken in response to audit findings
- Preparation of schedules and reports for submission related to applicable internal monthly compliance
- Delegating and overseeing work, assisting with developing the team and dealing with various aspects of people management
- Support finance and accounting teams in case of issues, escalations, accounting adjustments
- Lead and support audit process improvement
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as they arise
Job Required Knowledge & Skills
- Professional experience ideally with technical accounting and audit controls
- Public accounting experience a plus
- Ability to think in an analytical manner
- Ability to process large amounts of data with high attention to detail
- Exceptional Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Prioritization and time management to balance multiple projects efficiently and on time
- Professional communication with external audit teams and staff
- Strong teamwork mindset
- Experience with Microsoft D365 a plus
