Description:
The Die Engineering organization is responsible for using virtual simulation to provide an assessment of die to press interface and tooling interaction from front to end of the stamping press system. The individual will work as a Stamping Automation Engineer – Die to Press Integration to support the simulation and tooling build activities performed at the North American Engineering and Tooling Center (NAETC). They will interact with die designers, die design follow-up engineers, press shops, vendors, and program management to ensure a robust process is set prior to physical build of the tools. When on-site this role will be at Flint Tool and Die located in Flint, MI, but may require some time in Warren, MI as well.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Provide support as subject matter expert for automation tooling and press integration.
Correlate virtual press simulation to actual press system functions for optimized motion.
Support the design and build of automation tooling.
Supervise and maintain tooling delivery to schedule.
Support special plant projects as related to tooling integration.
Responsible for procuring purchase orders and approve invoices.
Develop and support standardized work.
Frequent Travel to Marion, IN.
Travel expected during launch periods.
