Staff Experience Designer

 

Description:

Responsibilities:
Partner with the Design Manager to establish team vision and goals, ensuring alignment with product objectives.

Lead the component definition, contribution and documentation process, ensuring clarity and consistency across all design assets.

Work closely with the Design System engineering team to understand requirements and bridge the gap between design and engineering.

Partner with pillar PM, Engineering and Design leads (Editor Framework, Home, Files & Brands, Extensibility, etc) to define and prioritize pattern creation and updates. Provide guidance to feature teams for component and pattern contributions, promoting standards, and integrating feedback and changes into design system as appropriate, fostering a collaborative and inclusive design culture.

Conduct regular audits of the design system to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to best practices and accessibility standards.

Partner with the Spectrum team to ensure that the Express design system and Spectrum's system are coherent and integrated seamlessly.

Help define the accessibility audit process and mentor other accessibility champions across Express pillars to ensure good coverage of the product.

Be an advocate for accessibility standards and inclusive design best practices.

Collaborate with Express designers to optimize the system in Figma, including developing standard processes for building and using componentized patterns

Mentor and guide other designers in the use of the design system, fostering a culture of design excellence.

Partner with other Horizon tenants to define the long-term contribution model.

Requirements:
Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and user-centered design.

Ability to think strategically and solve complex design challenges.

Proven experience in leading and managing design systems.

Experience and familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of designers.

5 or more years of experience and/or training in design or a related field

College degree or equivalent practical experience in design with an emphasis on graphic design, HCI, or related design field

The U.S. pay range for this position is $142,700 -- $265,400 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
