Staff Accountant

 

Description:

We are in search of a Staff Accountant with strong technical accounting background to join our newly setup US office in Los Angeles. The person will be responsible for all financial analysis & reporting including statutory & management & tax reporting, GL analysis & data integrity, compliance matters including audit/internal control coordination.

 

What You Will Achieve

  • Perform month-end, half-year-end, year-end closing procedures & ensure accuracy & completeness of the financial statements under both US GAAP & IFRS without supervision.
  • Reconcile all Balance sheet accounts from various systems to ensure a clean sheet.
  • Offer monthly succinct analysis on month-over-month P&L variance with business and communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Prepare & reconcile sales reports with POS system and solve discrepancies with business & system end.
  • Preparation & responsible for the monthly payout to the agent operator & provide reconciliation.
  • Prepare monthly leasing data for landlords & external auditor requirements, Audited Turnover Certification; Be responsible and custodian of the ‘numbers’.
  • Audit inventory cycle counts with business partners to ensure the right procedure in place.
  • Coordinate the half-year-end audit & year-end audit activities with auditors.
  • Develop and maintain US internal framework not limited to petty cash management, credit cards, procurement, etc.
  • Oversee company payroll processing and administration while ensuring compliance to federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Asset management includes mapping physical assets & tagging to ensure the system record is up to date.
  • Coordinate on all tax-related matters- including but not limited to sales tax, corporate tax...
  • Working closely with HQ finance & IT team to ensure the credibility of the reporting infrastructure & data accuracy.

 

What You Will Need

  • Strong GAAP & IFRS is essential. The staff accountant should be knowledgeable in applying relevant standards to ensure accurate financial reporting independently.
  • Minimum 3+ years' working experience in retail /public accounting in an accounting role.
  • Familiar with NetSuite or similar ERP system is a plus.
  • Current /progression towards professional membership preferred e.g. CA/CPA/CIMA.
  • Team player who can easily handle shifting priorities in a deadline-driven & multi-tasking environment.
