Our client, an established firm with a solid reputation in the transportation and infrastructure sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Engineer. Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):
- Lead multidisciplinary design teams for transportation and infrastructure projects, including roads, stormwater systems, and pedestrian pathways.
- Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery, meeting all required standards and regulations.
- Oversee client interactions, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project goals throughout each phase.
- Review and ensure quality assurance of designs, and prepare detailed scopes of work and project fee estimates.
- Manage project timelines and financials, ensuring budgets are adhered to and deadlines are met.
- Prepare proposals for new projects and participate in client presentations.
- Develop construction plans, traffic management schemes, and technical specifications for a range of transportation infrastructure improvements.
Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia.
- At least 10 years of experience in transportation engineering, focusing on the design and management of infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in project management, team leadership, and client communication.
- Advanced proficiency in design software such as MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
- Familiarity with working on projects for Virginia Department of Transportation and other local government agencies is strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create Excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
