Sr. Process Automation Engineer

Description:

The role will see you take ownership of control system projects related to plants with total headcount above 300 FTE. You will lead implementation of the controls component for projects which can total >$10M, often with at least 20% being focused solely on controls systems and upgrades. It is imperative you have a strong controls design background from a process environment such as chemicals, pharmaceutical, or food production. In the position you will be required to support peers internationally on DCS best practice, and act as a technical liaison between IT, Operations, Maintenance and R&D.

This position will see you in a highly-visible, independent and autonomous position within a growing business, aiming to complete ongoing capital projects (expansion, modernisation and new facilities), as well as identify needs for new CAPEX. For this position, you should have:

• Degree in Process/ Chemical Engineering or closely-related subject.
• 10+ Years’ experience in a relevant process/ batch manufacturing environment.
• Direct experience in the design, installation, and modification of DCS (Emerson, Siemens, Honeywell, etc). Hands-on experience with DeltaV is essential.
• Experience and competency playing a core role in complex CAPEX projects, with spends of >$10M.
• Demonstrable experience developing and implementing controls strategy and deploying process automation across multiple sites and processes.
• The ability to influence from operator level to senior managers both internally and externally.
• Hands-on controls configuration and programming experience is desirable. Additionally, knowledge of Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLC equipment is attractive.
