Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of three HR professionals.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
    • Ensure the HR team delivers high-quality and timely HR services to all employees.
  • Strategic Partnership:
    • Act as a strategic partner to the company and each division, understanding their business objectives and aligning HR strategies to support them.
    • Provide guidance and support on a broad range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, benefits administration.
  • Daily HR Operations:
    • Oversee daily human resource functions and serve as the primary contact for employees, assisting them in understanding company policies, practices, insurance, and benefit plans.
    • Maintain employee records, including personnel, training, safety, and other confidential materials.
  • Compliance:
    • Coordinate the company's personnel-related compliance programs, including but not limited to ADA, Veteran's Preference, EEO, Pay Equity, Workers Compensation, FMLA, and COBRA.
    • Research and make recommendations for the implementation and updating of insurance and benefit mandates and legislation, including ACA and health care reform initiatives.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
    • Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
    • Provide guidance and support to managers on employee performance and development issues.
  • Performance Management:
    • Oversee the performance appraisal process, ensuring it is fair and consistent.
    • Provide support to managers and employees in setting and achieving performance goals.
    • Identify and address performance issues promptly.
  • Compensation & Benefits Administration:
    • Foster & Maintain a strategic partnership between benefits broker and Knobelsdorff
    • Develop and administer employee benefits and insurance plans.
    • Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure they are competitive and aligned with company objectives.
  • Policy Development:
    • Assist in the preparation, review, and updating of job descriptions.
    • Coordinate with department directors to ensure job descriptions and job postings are current and accurate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or co combination of equivelant education and work experience.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR Certification or willing to obtain within 6 months.
  • Minimum 3 years of managing a team of HR professionals
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles and practices, rules, regulations, trends, and developments.
  • Effective communication skills, with an ability to function and succeed in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience collaborating with managers on HR-related matters.
  • Strong creative and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop and recommend practical solutions.
  • Ability to manage situations with discretion, good judgment, and an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • In-depth understanding of employment laws.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage various open positions simultaneously.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that represents a history of safe and competent driving.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
