Description:
General Job Responsibilities:
- Provide before, during and or after school hours, Saturdays, and/ or early evening sessions.
- Provide supplemental, in-class and instruction.
- Include research-based instructional practices and strategies to target students in the middle or lower academically in order to prepare them to meet the core curriculum standards and to prepare them for college and the workplace.
- Include a component to teach organizational skills for students to apply in every aspect of their education.
- Provide fun and motivating lesson plans.
- Promote College & Career Readiness skills through its curriculum and suggested instructional practices.
- Provide tutorials for students.
- Provide strategies to instill leadership skills in students.
- Provide a curriculum aligned to the Common Core State Standards and target the area of most need.
- Promote critical thinking skills through the use of research-based instructional practices and strategies.
- Incorporate inquiry-based research skills aligned to the Common Core State Standards.
- Materials provide students with study skills and strategies to meet the CCS.
- Satisfy the Federal Definition of Highly Qualified, Teachers Must:
- Have at least a Bachelor's degree
- Have valid state certification
- CE and CEAS are considered state certification
- No requirements have been waived
- No emergency or conditional certificated
- Demonstrate content expertise in the core academic subject(s) taught.
