Responsibilities include but not limited to: Perform analysis, design, development, testing, integration, and implementation activities of varying complexity.Work to solve problems innovatively and with a test and learn mindset.Support modernization efforts such as leveraging AWS cloud native capabilities.Develop and maintain platform/team business knowledge.Ensure effective and favorable relationships are developed and maintained with key stakeholders.Provide ongoing support for business applications and respond to production needs. Qualifications: 2+ years of Java Development experience.Exposure to service-oriented architectures, leveraging Java, JavaScript, Gradle, SQL, and JPA, along with familiarity with YUI and Jquery.Knowledge in or ability to learn AWS capabilities such as EC2, Serverless, and Lambda.Exposure to both web applications and backend services.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Collaboration and the ability to work within an agile environment.Strong problem-solving skills.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/related field or guild/bootcamp training or other relevant professional experience.
 

• This position will be in a hybrid working arrangement.** Securian Financial believes in hybrid work as an integral part of our culture. Associates get the benefit of working both virtually and in our offices. If you're in a commutable distance (90 minutes) you'll join us 2-3 days each week in our offices to collaborate and build relationships. Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules. When working in our offices at least two days per week isn't feasible (vacations, illness, travel, etc.), an eight day per month standard is an option. Physical job requirements: Ability to utilize the keyboard, computer and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day.Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.Ability to utilize the phone and/or virtual meeting platform for 1-4 hours per day.
