Software Engineer

Saks.com LLC seeks Software Engineer in New York, NY, to design, develop, and test software components and applications and work on an agile engineering team writing maintainable and scalable code for software modules. Develop high-performance, multithreaded, and parallel processes that take advantage of multicore cloud-computing engines. Design and implement distributed microservices and low-asymptotic runtime algorithms to process millions of product, pricing, inventory and order records. Clarify technical requirements, assessing development estimates and apply a broad range of design patterns. Define and code designs to meet deliverables. Influence team technical decisions. Participate in every phase of the software development life cycle. Review code of other team members and provides constructive feedback. Performed continuous prototyping of technology trends, tools, and approaches, including sharing this knowledge with their team. Mentor and lead developers by cultivating curiosity and deep technical understanding. Implement custom deployment pipelines to deliver software continuously to satisfy business needs. Monitor and maintain production systems. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Analytics, Electrical Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: developing parallel processes that utilize multicore cloud-computing engines; designing and implementing distributed microservices and low-asymptotic runtime algorithms to process heavy volume of product, pricing, inventory and order records; monitoring and maintaining production systems to ensure continuous uptime during peak traffic; documenting technical requirements, assessing development estimates and applying a broad range of design patterns; and reviewing code of other team members and mentoring team on technology trends and approaches. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience with the above listed skills.
