Description:

IT@JH Health IT is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer who is responsible for developing and implementing a Microsoft Power BI data model strategy for Epic data. The current focus is Power BI; however, this may change over time. The candidate should be forward thinking looking for opportunities to improve our toolset.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Leads efforts to analyze, design and build Power BI solutions to meet enterprise needs.
Determines best use of import or direct query.

Develops strategy to use table aggregations.

Develops data flows.

Determines a workspace strategy including dev ops promotion of content.

Builds models from the Caboodle data source.

Applies row level security integrated with active directory and Epic security groups.

Applies sample datasets for efficient development.

Develops strategy for GEN2 storage.

Monitors advances in technology for e.g., Microsoft Fabric and Epic Nebula.

Works with the department director and manager to develop the Power BI architecture.
Works with analytics teams to determine data and measure requirements.
Works with the Power BI admin team on best practices and policies.
Responsible to lead, mentor and assist report writers with best Power BI development practices as they ramp-up in tool adoption and use.
Interacts with clients across the Health System to deliver Power BI platform-based solutions.
