Description:

Midland States Bank is seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Developer to join our Custom Development team. This role involves API development, automation, and software integrations to streamline banking processes and enhance customer experiences. You will work closely with internal IT and business teams to create and manage secure connections between banking platforms, supporting both internal automation and external Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

API Development & Integration: Design and build microservices and manage API gateways for seamless system connectivity.
Automation & Process Improvement: Implement automated solutions to enhance banking operations and efficiency.
CI/CD & Deployment: Develop and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and containerized applications.
Agile Development: Work within an Agile team, participating in sprint planning and collaboration meetings.
Security & Compliance: Ensure solutions meet banking security standards and regulatory requirements (BSA compliance).
Problem-Solving & Research: Conduct technical research and seek guidance from senior team members to solve complex issues.
Occasional Travel: Travel may be required for training, team meetings, and collaboration.

Candidate Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (preferred) or equivalent experience.
Technical Skills:

  • 1-3 years of experience in API development, integrations, or automation.

  • Programming: Proficiency in at least one language (Node.js, JavaScript, Python, .NET).

  • Version Control & IDEs: Familiarity with Git, VS Code, IntelliJ, or other IDEs.

  • CI/CD Tools: Experience with automated deployments and containerization.

  • Development Paradigms: Understanding of DRY principles, encapsulation, and dependency injection.
    Banking & Fintech (Preferred): Prior experience with Banking as a Service (BaaS) or financial technology is a plus.
    Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Salary & Benefits:

💰 $5,417 - $6,250 per month ($65,000 - $75,000 annually).
