Software Design Engineer

Digital Cloak is seeking a Software Design Engineer to engineer, develop and maintain software applications, tools and technical solutions in a fast-paced environment within a small but cohesive team of innovative software developers. This position supports Government clients in the Washington, DC and Quantico, Virginia areas.

Essential Functions

• Application development using Agile Scrum and SDLC methodologies
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code
• Engineer and sustain top performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs and produce solutions
• Help maintain code quality, organization and automation
• Maintain data and database systems to meet business delivery specifications and needs
• Design, develop and deliver / implement data solutions in:
  • architecture design
  • prototyping of concepts to proof of concept
  • development of standards
  • design and development of test plans
  • code and module design
  • development and testing
  • data solution debugging
  • design and implementation of solutions that follow efficient design techniques and development that meets and exceeds the intent of the design of the data solution
• Represent Digital Cloak as a company in the customer's environment. Interact with the customer and subcontractors in a fluid and professional manner.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Minimum 4+ years in .NET development with C# experience including a a high proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience with and ability to demonstrate knowledge of .NET Core and web technologies such as ASP (MVC, Razor, Blazer)
• Experience with and ability to demonstrate knowledge of web development architecture such as REST and standards such as HTTP, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID
• Applied knowledge of the software development process including the Agile Development paradigm and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Ability to contribute to database design and development
• Proficient language skills. Ability to communicate effectively and fluently with customers and colleagues in a polite and professional manner.
