Service Center Manager

 

Description:

The Assistant SCM directs the workforce to succeed in quality service, including hiring, training, and managing new and existing staff members. The Assistant SCM will ensure that ARC standards are upheld or surpassed when dealing with customers and employees. Other tasks include encouraging positive communications within the branch and other ARC locations to give clients top customer service to support the business and using a "Whatever it Takes" attitude in the facility.

These are the exciting things you get to do:

  • Fiscal and operational responsibility for the daily operations of the assigned branch facility
  • Develop and implement a quality management strategy and plan, including resources, systems, timescales, and financials to support, contribute to, and integrate within the companys annual goals and long-term strategy
  • Work with other SCMs and supervisors to meet customer deadlines
  • Manage and engage with team members for motivation and support
  • Develop and maintain systems to establish standards relating to branch activities and products
  • Develop and maintain systems to measure branch performance against established standards
  • Monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate, advise, assist, and reprimand according to performance levels
  • Monitor, inform, communicate, apply standards created and integrate within internal quality management systems
  • Establish and implement necessary communication strategy and corrective action for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across all departments
  • Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales
  • Establish and maintain appropriate inventory controls
  • Manage cash sales reporting and submissions
  • Report changes to standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards
  • Manage staff according to company standards (appraisals, discipline, training, development, etc.)
  • Manage departmental performance against agreed targets and budgets and within policies and standards
  • Liaison with customers and suppliers where necessary (where impacting/affected by quality issues)
  • Contribute to executive policy and strategy
  • Maintain a high level of branch organization at all times
  • Develop tools to accurately track errors and deadline compliance
  • Ensure the system to track machine clicks for maximum cost efficiency is consistently utilized
  • Ensures that there are operational QC systems in place to monitor order-in, operators, quality control, final check, and orders-out.
  • Ensures that an operational system is in place for proper shift transitions, if applicable
  • Ensures that there is a system in place to monitor supplies
  • Maintain proper security and safety levels in the facility
  • Submit all branch reporting on time
  • Plan and direct production activities and establish production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors
  • Maintain a professional, quality work environment at all times
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problematic orders and customer complaints
  • Hire, train, and evaluate personnel to maintain consistent quality and maximum production
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned

These are what you bring to the table to succeed:
 

  • Associates degree and 2 years of related experience
  • 2+ to 5 years of experience managing a print shop or sign location
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and align operations and sales processes to achieve business results
  • Self-motivated with the abilityto work independently, and resourcefully with minimal oversight
  • Demonstrated experience in developing strong working relationships withinternal and external customers
