Description:
At TempWorks, our success depends on systems being available to internal staff, software licensees, as well as the customers and employees of software licensees. The Sys Admin III is responsible for protecting our critical systems, including Windows and Linux systems, Azure resources, and other software and hardware appliances through architecture and security patch execution, implementing new software and hardware, providing training, and collaborating in overall IT and security strategy.
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain essential IT infrastructure and minimum requirements, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, software, and hardware
- Collaborate on design of as well as implement and maintain backup strategies and disaster recovery processes
- Execute on monthly maintenance for prioritized systems as directed by IT leadership
- Improve upon systems maintenance based on company priorities
- Perform server administration tasks; research event-log warnings and errors; monitor data-center health
- Maintain asset tracking for both hardware and software used by the business
- Assist in purchase request process for all hardware and software purchases
- Manage incident response policies and execute against said policies according to business needs
- Assist help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root cause and provide technical support
- Work with internal and external partners to communicate request ticket statuses, activities, and implementation
- Participate in large IT projects and initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of technology trends, emerging tools, and their potential application to business operations
- Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud computing
- Expertise in cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance frameworks
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field OR applicable certificates
- CompTIA A+ or equivalent
- CompTIA Network+ or equivalent
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
- Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in IT roles
- Demonstrated success in maintaining IT systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft 365 strongly preferred
