IaaS division focuses on building large-scale and highly available cloud infrastructure, which supports both public cloud products (like VolcEngine ECS service) and ByteDance internal products.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and prototype of key technologies or products.
- Research and follow trends from industry companies, open-source communities and academia.
- Review design and implementation and ensure it is aligned with long term vision and roadmap.
- Communicate and coordinate with partner teams to deliver projects on time with high quality.
- BS or above degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years experience of building large-scale cloud infrastructure, preferably industry-leading public-cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure/GCP.
- 3+ years experience of tech lead or senior development engineer.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of cloud computing and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform tech stack and trends.
- Good communication, self-motivation, engineering practice, and working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Familiar with at least two of the areas below:
- AI Infra (GPU/TPU clusters, AI cluster management, job scheduling, NCCL and ML frameworks, etc)
- Large-scale cluster management system (OpenStack, Kubernetes, or proprietary cluster management systems).
- VM or container infra (KVM, QEMU, Docker, Kata, Firecracker, gVisor, etc.)
- Server hardware platform technologies (next-gen Intel/AMD/ARM CPU, persistent memory, CXL, heterogenous computing, etc.)
- Software-hardware co-design in cloud infrastructure (DPU, SmartNic, etc).
