Senior Software Engineer

At Unity we believe XR is going to be increasingly important. We are the platform of choice for XR developers today and intend to remain so, and as the XR ecosystem evolves and immersive computing becomes more prevalent we want to be ready.

As a member of the XR Features team you will be making the tools that enable creators to ship immersive experiences to all the XR platforms that Unity supports, from smartphone AR, VR & AR head mounted displays, to as yet unannounced hardware.

We are looking for someone willing to dig deep into graphics and platform APIs to ensure Unity is performant on all XR platforms. You're not fazed by C# or C++ and working with both. If you are passionate about XR from the developer experience down to the swap chain this may be the role for you.

XR is a growing team within Unity and you'll have opportunity to shape the future of this exciting area and learn and grow along the way.

The Unity XR team is primarily based in Bellevue and San Francisco. This position is open to other US and Canada locations but will require occasional travel.

What you'll be doing

• Working with our foundations team and platform providers to let developers write once and ship anywhere.
• Working with graphics APIs (Vulkan/Metal/DX/GLES) to provide an optimal experience on all platforms.
• Participating in an active development team. You will be reviewing code, improving the quality of our products and giving input to our future direction.

What we're looking for

• C# or C++ development experience.
• Experience with real-time 3D graphics APIs.
• Experience or interest in XR application development.

• Experience interacting with clients/users of 3d software.
• Experience with XR content creation.
