Senior Researcher

Description:

Reporting to the Senior Manager R&D the Senior Researcher is responsible for conducting advanced research and development in industrial cooling, boiler, and process-side water treatment, focusing on innovating, testing, and commercializing chemical treatments. This role requires expertise in scale inhibition, corrosion inhibition, and microbiological control applications, as well as collaboration with the Sales team to troubleshoot customer issues and develop new products.

This position is part of the R&D team located in Ashland, VA and will be on site.

In this role, a typical day will look like:
 

• Lead and execute complex cross-functional projects focused on strategic New Product Development (NPD) and basic research in corrosion and scale control applications for industrial water treatment.
• Plan and manage rapid innovation, NPD, and basic research projects using Veralto’s project planning and process improvement methodologies.
• Ensure product lines incorporate leading-edge technology, identifying gaps and opportunities to expand product sales margins.
• Visit customers to troubleshoot processes and recommend process changes to optimize operational resources
• Contribute to intellectual property planning, patents, and presenting technical papers at conferences.
• Travel to trade shows, conferences, and other events as needed, providing technical support to field sales. Travel could be up to 25%.
  
   

The essential requirements of the job include:
 

• B.S. degree in Chemistry or related field with over 10 years of experience in water treatment or a higher degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) with over 5 years of experience.
• Experience in water treatment related to scale inhibition, corrosion inhibition, microbiological control, or related applications.
• Experience in Electrochemical Corrosion measurements is a plus
• Advanced familiarity with common laboratory instruments, equipment, and techniques
