Senior Project Manager

 

Description:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the largest revenue projects for the company, ensuring successful execution from estimation to completion. Under the supervision of the Vice President, the role involves setting project objectives, maintaining client relationships, and monitoring construction and financial activities through on-site project managers or construction managers. Travel is required to various job site locations.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience in construction.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills with owners, engineers, clients, employees, vendors, and public agencies.

  • Proficiency in construction-related software and computer applications.

  • Valid Driver’s License required.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating & Bidding:

  • Analyze site plans and specifications to determine project scope and costs.

  • Coordinate material costs and subcontractor notifications.

  • Develop preliminary project schedules to ensure timely completion.

Pre-Construction:

  • Review and manage contracts, including owner and subcontractor agreements.

  • Oversee submittals, scheduling, and procurement of materials.

  • Ensure compliance with prevailing wage and payroll requirements.

  • Prepare phase lists, material lists, and project documentation for superintendents.

Construction Phase:

  • Direct company and subcontractor crews for efficient execution.

  • Manage personnel hiring, discipline, and compliance in coordination with the Vice President.

  • Facilitate communication between engineers, owners, and superintendents.

  • Perform job costing, approve invoices, and update cost projections weekly.

  • Handle change orders and subcontractor adjustments as needed.

Post-Construction:

  • Request and document substantial project completion.

  • Audit job costs and conduct performance reviews.

  • Maintain organized records and office documentation.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Seek cost-effective purchasing solutions.

  • Document all meetings and communications.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
