Project Manager Position Summary:

Project Managers are responsible for overseeing the design and construction phases of University projects. Managing a portfolio of either a limited number of more complex projects or several smaller projects, they coordinate efforts among architects, engineers, contractors, and various University Departments and State Agencies. Project Managers ensure the successful completion of non-capital and smaller capital projects by developing, monitoring, managing, and communicating project scope, budget, and schedule requirements. Operating autonomously on routine management tasks and correspondence, they report to and receive guidance from Team Leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive project assignments and collaboratively define goals and objectives with the project team and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with negotiated contract documents by professional consultants and contractors.
  • Review preliminary and final plans, providing recommendations for enhancing engineering details and constructability.
  • Oversee the occupancy, turnover, and close-out processes.
  • Determine construction progress and resolve construction issues with construction administration managers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively in a diverse team environment with registered engineers, architects, and construction administration managers to facilitate successful design and construction.
  • Provide excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism, accuracy, and follow-through in work assignments.
