The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) seeks a dynamic Senior Manager of Learning, Interpretation, & Programming to assist with shaping and advancing the overall museum educational programming priorities for our school and teacher stakeholder group(s). Reporting to the Director of Learning & Interpretation, the Senior Manager of Learning, Interpretation, & Programming is responsible for the management of the experiential and education enrichment with local schools/teachers, and the Museum’s docent program(s). This position will be responsible for providing strategic direction and collaboration on additional areas of the Learning & Interpretation department(s) including major programs and events.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manages the overall experiential museum education programming for School and Teacher Programs.
- Collaborates with the Director of Learning & Interpretation to co-manage the Docent Program, which includes a new pathway educational training program implementation.
- Manages the development of experiential and pedagogy curriculums for school programs including teacher resources, and Docent-led experiential tour activities, which reflects our museum collection and special exhibitions.
- Manages the development and leads PreK-12 teacher experiential professional development experiences and co-leads the weeklong Teacher Institute annually with the Director of Learning & Interpretation.
- Serves as a primary source of museum education information and communication for our school and teacher stakeholder group(s) through dynamic experiential education (school tour) brochures, and quarterly newsletters.
- Provides guidance and oversight on the museum major programs and events and manages the day-to-day activities of the Programs & Events Specialist.
- Manages relationships with key stakeholders and partners externally and internally to deliver dynamic experiential and social learning programs and events that enhance the museum reputation for major and annual programs including TMA’s Block Party, Juneteenth Celebration, and TMA’s Great Art Escape.
- Models the way for the Museum’s commitment to quality and belonging. Acts as a visitor advocate always which includes acknowledging visitors and striving to make them feel welcome, comfortable, and eager to return.
- Serves as department head in the absence of the department Director of Learning & Interpretation.
- Manages some Learning & Interpretation staff members and/or interns.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in education, or related field.
- Art Education preferred.
- 5 years of experience in museum education.
- 3 years of management experience.
