The Manager of Business Planning reports to the Senior Manager of Business Planning and owns the general market, sales, and supply chain analysis required to understand, predict, and enhance mobile phone sales and availability at Samsung’s second largest account. This person oversees data collection, performance analysis, problem identification, and associated recommendations which support mobile planning, operations, and customer demand. He/she ensures customer needs are met while minimizing overall supply chain costs.

Role and Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drive contractual term negotiations and alignment with customer and within internal Samsung stakeholders and leadership
  • Fully understand and communicate financial implications, business obligations and any potential risks to leadership
  • Provide contractual term guideline to internal teams to ensure compliance
  • Negotiate MPA terms with customer to address business objectives and strategies
  • Work closely with HQ finance and legal teams to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Manage pricing and margin price list and setup for new products
  • Supports exceeding quarterly and annual revenue, profit, and market share goals for assigned customer(s)
  • Responsible for and directs the work of others in the gathering, analysis, and reporting of key market, competitive, and sales data
  • Develops relationships with customer personnel across sales operations, buying, and distribution
  • Supports promotion process through understanding of budgetary process and profit metrics
  • Leadership and significant contribution toward driving sales goals and customer team success

Skills and Qualifications

Background/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in general business, operations management, supply chain, or a related field plus 8+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in the telecommunications and/or wireless industry requiring management of finance, logistics, distribution, program management, and/or business planning, or equivalent work experience in planning, finance, or operations.
  • Experience should include researching and resolving customer product development, launch, delivery, and logistics issues; driving process improvement to streamline business cadence.
  • Preferred experience in mobile / telecom industries
