MCL Construction, a 37+ year general contractor working primarily in commercial construction and based in Omaha, NE is looking for an individual who wants to play a vital role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality learning experiences to enhance the knowledge and skills of our employees. You will report directly to the Learning and Development Manager and work closely with thought partners and subject matter experts, trainers, and other stakeholders to create engaging, effective, and innovative learning materials around technical elements of construction execution and construction management. Along with extensive industry experience and expertise, the position will require excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management skills. Your contributions will have a direct impact on our employees’ performance and career growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional Design: 30% of Time

 

  • Create and design engaging and interactive learning content, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, videos, simulations, and assessments.
  • Design training materials, including presentations, facilitator guides, and learner guides, aligned with learning objectives and organizational goals.
  • Designs training that includes multimedia visual aids, participant guides, knowledge assessments, and other supplemental educational materials.
  • Utilize authoring tools to create engaging e-learning courses, incorporating multimedia elements and interactivity.

Learning Management System (LMS) Administration:
30% of time

 

  • Assist L&D Manager in managing and uploading content to the LMS, ensuring seamless learner experience with easy access, and tracking of employee progress.
  • Able to curate learning content aligned to departmental, company-wide, safety/policy and or individual learning needs.

Needs Assessments: 20% of Time

  • Analyzes need to select the most effective method of delivery such as: classroom training, third party training, e-learning, on-the-job training, etc.
  • Conducts needs assessments/instructional analysis to ensure conformity with training objectives and develop training plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine training needs and schedule training sessions. Consult with employees and their managers to suggest appropriate learning paths in support of career/professional development.
  • Recommend new or alternate training methods and programs.

Facilitate: 20% of Time

  • Develop, oversee, and facilitate in-person seminars, workshops, and train-the-trainer programs, etc.
  • Assists in managing logistics, scheduling, and administrative tasks related to training programs.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Portfolio of instructional design and content development examples.
  • Creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passionate about developing employees.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE) and e-learning best practices.
  • Ability to coordinate or manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
