Description:

Essential Functions

  • Work as part of a team to support technology-facilitated courses and program development.
  • Support UC Blue Ash campus learning management system protocols in Canvas including updating and applying UC Blue Ash template to courses each semester and maintaining resources in the UC Blue Ash Online Teaching Community.
  • Consult with and assist faculty, staff, and subject matter experts in the development of online and technology-facilitated courses including hybrid and hyflex.
  • Present workshops and programs, conduct faculty/staff training, and help faculty and academic programs implement new technologies and approaches for technology-facilitated learning.
  • Assist faculty with the use of web-based resources, multimedia technologies, web conferencing, instructional software and systems for technology-facilitated course development, file accessibility remediation, and captioning.
  • Provide routine, local support for faculty concerning UC enterprise teaching tools and coordinate with UC’s Digital Technology Solutions through referrals for more comprehensive support.
  • Help faculty with university online design quality systems, such as Quality Matters, and support faculty in meeting basic standards of quality course design by conducting internal course reviews and managing the Support for Online Course Design course for faculty.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners that are critical to the success of course development, implementation, and problem resolution. Partners may include but are not limited to college and university academic support departments and offices; college and university committees; faculty, technology/multimedia staff, virtual learning management staff, and department academic support staff; and vendor support services.

Essential Function (cont.)

  • Partner with Library faculty concerning the most effective ways to build information literacy content packages for faculty to incorporate into courses.
  • Develop and support current and new technology-facilitated courses according to established procedures; support instructors in development of instructional materials for technology-facilitated courses that are consistent with sound instructional design principles and standards; utilize a variety of software and development tools including Articulate and Camtasia.
  • Design and implement assessment methods to evaluate technology-based learning materials and to help evaluate learning tools to increase student engagement in technology-facilitated courses, research curriculum and pedagogical strategies.
  • Contribute to ongoing research, evaluation, and design of technology-facilitated courses and programs.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship and open communication with university and college teaching and technology partners and represent UCBA on appropriate committees.
  • Research, evaluate, and integrate new and emerging educational technologies for improving student learning within technology-facilitated courses.
  • Acquire certifications required in facilitating quality course design systems such as the Applying the Quality Matters Rubric Workshop.
  • Research curriculum and pedagogical strategies to design and implement assessment methods that will evaluate the effectiveness of the user experience. Revise the technology-based learning materials and tools to increase student engagement in technology-facilitated courses. Continually adapt methods as needed in response to user feedback.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
