Description:
The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of related mechanical/fire protection engineering experience (Industrial facilities and high-hazard materials will have special consideration) . The successful candidate would be mentored by our dynamic team of engineering professionals while supporting a range of multidisciplinary projects. Please note that a PE license (or passage of the PE exam) is required for this position.
Qualifications:
- BS in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
- 5+ years of experience (internship and professional experience included)
- PE License Earned or PE Exam Passage and Awaiting Licensure
- Proficient with relevant software such as AutoCad or Revit
- Experience with Fire Protection Engineering services for Industrial Facilities, and knowledge of hazardous materials , hazard occupancies and fire suppression.
- Hazard Building code compliance will have special consideration .
- Ability to determine the scope of assigned fire protection project, review and interpret construction documents, applicable codes, and utilize software programs to create the engineering designs based on the interpretation of project plans and submittals/specifications of contract documents
- Ability to determine cost-effective fire sprinkler and fire alarm system layouts, quantities, and specifications; select and schedule equipment with limited oversight
- Knowledge of code compliance of the fire protection systems and the building design
- Physically able to conduct field inspections and analysis to upgrade and correct existing system problems
- Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work.
