The Historian Senior Exhibit Developer oversees the development of History Colorado’s exhibition program across the statewide History Colorado system and works closely with colleagues throughout the organization to ensure that our exhibitions are successful across a variety of measures.
Duties
Facilitate and guide History Colorado’s exhibition development program, overseeing the exhibition developers as we continue to produce exhibitions that make our shared history as Coloradans accessible to all

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across History Colorado, including curatorial services, collections access, publications, philanthropy, membership, marketing, and communications and design and production to ensure clear communication and understanding for our exhibition planning

• Participate in the project management and creation of eight exhibitions per year on average, ranging from mezzanine installations to large gallery exhibitions

• Support exhibition development at History Colorado’s community museums around the state in coordination with local museum staff members

• Identify, develop and communicate historical content for History Colorado exhibitions

• Serve as interpretative content expert on exhibit development teams

• Conceptualize, articulate and write historical context reports, exhibit pre-writes and other text as necessary

• Lead audience research and evaluation projects

High School Graduate/GED and five (5) years in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
