You will be accountable for the entire sales process, including managing sales staff subordinate to you, interacting with the marketing team, growing and managing a sales pipeline, articulating the value-added unique capabilities of Ascend software relative to the competition, ensuring demos and proposals position Ascend favorable to win customers. The position focuses on creating and managing new business opportunities for our SmartBidder Suite software to manage the optimal bidding and ISO scheduling services.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage other sales team members that report to you
- Coordinate with other product teams to leverage existing customer bases as well as identify and prospect renewable energy asset owners, developers, operators, and utilities to grow a pipeline of opportunities
- Manage and negotiate close of contract sales for Ascend's ongoing optimization and bidding automation platform SmartBidder
- Effectively communicate relative advantages of Ascend’s forecasting, bid optimization, and trading strategies for storage and renewable energy
- Manage presentations and demos of analytic software solutions to in a highly proficient and professional manner
- Manage sales through forecasting, account resource allocation, account strategy, and planning
- Manage and develop solution proposals encompassing all aspects of the product
- Manage and develop processes for cross selling and upselling
- Primary marketing/sales related responsibilities include:
- Manage and lead development of customer/prospecting events such as conferences, seminars, and webinars
- Manage/develop materials for the mass marketing channels and specific events
- Manage and lead timely and relevant data on opportunities and accounts in SalesForce
- Manage and develop key customer relationships
- Manage marketing to run email marketing campaigns
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in a highly quantitative discipline
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the energy market industry
- Familiarity with wholesale energy market dynamics
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interpret complex analytic solutions into value propositions
- Professional attitude and presentation
- Passion for clean energy, renewables, and the clean energy transition
