Description:
Responsible for business development to improve the Sports Authority’s brand recognition and help boost the overall financial growth of the organization. This position produces sales strategies and creates action plans that help advance all programs or initiatives surrounding owned, annual sporting events or those competitions awarded for future years that are scheduled to be hosted in Houston/Harris County. A seasoned salesperson with experience and proven track record in new customer acquisition and client optimization. Responsible for overall management of existing partnerships as well as the development of new revenue opportunities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Create value-added opportunities and maintain positive client relationships with all partners.
- Identify and research potential new clients.
- Coordinate with the event sales and operations team to develop mutually beneficial proposals.
- Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with stakeholders. Monitor to ensure contracts are executed as agreed upon.
- Gather useful information from customers and competitor data.
- Make and give presentations to prospective clients and internal executives.
- Track, identify, and add qualified prospects to the sales pipeline.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business.
- Drive the end-to-end sales process.
- Prepare and submit dynamic proposals to decision-makers.
- Research, prospect and establish leads for corporate relationships followed by an introductory needs-analysis/discovery meeting utilizing a consultative sales approach.
- Work closely with HCHSA executive team members to achieve forecast goals and identify opportunities.
- Work closely with assigned team members to ensure contractual fulfillment with an emphasis towards maximizing over-delivery.
- Manage expense budgets related to the implementation and execution of corporate partnership agreements.
- Prepare weekly sales reports.
- Work special events to entertain existing partners and prospects.
- Work closely with other departments within the organization on corporate partner related programs to create and maintain a comprehensive internal communications strategy.
- Foster positive and collaborative relationships with community residents, local nonprofit organizations, and businesses.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Five or more years of experience working in sales with a proven track record of successful revenue generation.
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
- Take pleasure in meeting new people and have genuine interest in watching others succeed.
- Possess a creative side that enjoys pushing the boundaries for innovative partnerships.
- Strong problem-solving skills to produce mutually beneficial solutions.
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
- Ability and willingness to travel for meetings with prospective and existing clients.
- Have strong, existing working relationships with a variety of corporations, charitable organizations, and various other potential partner entities.
- Must be an enthusiastic team player willing to work flexible hours to include occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
