Description:
The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network is seeking a fundraising professional to manage the organization’s national walk campaign efforts. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Senior Development Manager/Walk Director will have leadership responsibilities over the Walk to End Bladder Cancer as well as corporate fundraising. The ideal candidate must have proven success in peer-to-peer fundraising and development and stewardship of existing and new corporate partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and execute all event logistics, including budget, timeline, vendor selection, marketing, volunteer recruitment, and post-event assessment for the Walk to End Bladder Cancer;
- Collaborate with Development personnel to design and update event microsites and webpages;
- Manage peer-to-peer fundraising platforms which track and manage revenue generating activities, volunteer leadership, and third-party events;
- Collaborate with Development staff to identify event sponsorship opportunities and solicit prospects;
- Draft, design, and edit event collateral;
- Develop and manage event budgets including sponsorship revenue, ticket sales, auctions, and raffles.
- Cultivate and steward strong relationships with various constituencies and potential sponsors;
- In collaboration with Volunteer Services, recruit, train, and manage event volunteers to organize events that meet or exceed established fundraising goals;
- Update and manage donor records in Raiser’s Edge to ensure that all gifts, guest lists, and prospects are tracked and acknowledged;
- Develop a strategy to recognize, reward and motivate successful volunteers to organize walk events that meet or exceed established fundraising goals;
- Provide high touch point communications to Walk team captains and participants to ensure successful execution of walks
Required Experience, Skills and Attributes
- Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of six years of combined experience in Walk/Run/Bike event management and fundraising, and a valid driver’s license.
- Advanced knowledge of event fundraising techniques and experience with event fundraising software and platforms (Raiser’s Edge a plus);
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment; ability to quickly adapt to changes in priority or rapidly evolving contingencies;
- Strong leadership skills, including effective delegation skills; and an appreciation for diversity.
- Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to work independently, be flexible, and juggle multiple priorities for overlapping initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
